About

# About Vox Stella

Vox Stella is desktop astrology software for Windows, built around traditional methods and designed to show the chart factors behind every result.

## What Vox Stella is

Vox Stella has two core workspaces. **Horary** handles question casting and judgment. **Astro Clock** follows a live or manual chart, saves reusable chart snaps, and passes that chart context into the deeper tools: Aspect Analysis, Transits, Synastry, Election, Astrocartography and PathFinder, Trait Profile, and Forensic.

The Windows download is free and includes the live Astro Clock. Horary questions and the wider toolkit are unlocked with a one-time license or monthly access; see [plans and pricing](/product) for the current version and prices, and the [feature map](/features) for what each workspace does.

A separate native iOS app, [Vox Stella Forensics](/forensics-ios) (listed on the App Store as "VoxStella - Forensics"), is a research tool for casting event charts and studying bundled public case snapshots on iPhone and iPad.

## The methods behind it

Vox Stella's horary judgment follows the traditional approach set out by William Lilly in *Christian Astrology* (1647): significators, essential and accidental dignity, reception, perfection, and the Moon's sequence. Many of its chart analyses, including the Trait Profile and the election scanner, apply Jean-Baptiste Morin's priority of house placement, rulership, and aspect. The software organizes and scores those factors and keeps them visible; the astrologer remains responsible for the judgment.

Astrology is a traditional, symbolic practice. It has not been validated by controlled scientific studies, and Vox Stella is not a source of medical, legal, financial, safety, or investigative advice.

## What we publish

- **Guides** to the methods the software uses, starting with [horary](/blog/posts/what-is-horary-astrology), [electional](/blog/posts/what-is-electional-astrology-and-why-is-it-used), [forensic](/blog/posts/what-is-forensic-astrology), and [relocation astrology](/blog/posts/relocation-astrology-astrocartography-map-guide).

- **Case studies** of documented events, written after the facts were known to show how a method reads a chart and where it fails. They are not evidence and make no claims about guilt or innocence.

- **Research experiments**, such as [blind chart readings](/blog/posts/blind-chart-reading-experiment) and [transit backtests](/blog/posts/validating-transit-predictions-tiger-woods-accident), published with their settings, misses, and limits.

- **Documentation** for the [Horary workspace](/docs/workspace/) and [Astro Clock](/docs/astro-clock/).

Articles on this site are written and published by the Vox Stella Team. When a post is substantially revised, its "Updated" date changes. If you spot an error, please email us.
